I Did It!
I’m going to list, in no particular order, things that you have achieved in your life that may not seem big now, but at the time would have made climbing Mt. Everest seem small by comparison.
Remember when you first conquered a two-wheeled bike? How did that feel?
How about the pride of getting an A on a big test that really counted? How did that feel?
Remember when you got your first job? How did that feel?
Remember when you divorced your first wife? (Just kidding. Kinda)
Think back to the times when you “did it.”
Big deal or little deal, big bucks or little bucks — you did it!
The key is to remember those times and to recall them as you enter your next potential “did it.” Your feeling of accomplishment, your feeling of achievement, your feeling of success, and your feeling of euphoria combine to give you the feeling of “I can do it!”
You can affect you the easiest.
The easiest way to achieve success at anything is: only work on the things that you can affect.
If you take responsibility for your success, you have a chance.
The opposite of responsibility is: BLAME. If you blame others, the end result is, no change in circumstances.
If you take responsibility for what you say, what you learn, how you act, and what you expose yourself to, then have the best chance for self-success.
This simple truth will get you further than any other: I am responsible for me.
If you will focus 90% (or more) of your effort on the things you can affect — on the things you can make better, on the people you can influence, on the things you can change — then “all of a sudden” you will start to improve — AND THEN things will improve.
I wish you every success… but you have to make it happen on your own.
Here are the fundamental rules of attitude:
1. Be aware of how important attitude is in your job, in your career, and in your life.
2. Be aware that your attitude training to date has been somewhere between zero and not enough.
3. Be aware that your attitude at the moment is not as good as you thought it was.
3.5 Be aware that it will take daily study, and daily maintenance, for you to possess your most valuable asset — a positive attitude, a YES!Attitude.
I am a book collector. In my library, there are more than 900 books on the subject of attitude. I am not suggesting that you go out and buy 1,000 attitude books — but I am suggesting that you go out and buy 10. You can decide which 10 are most important to you.
NOTE: You can’t just read them, you have to study them.
Many of the books contained in this list are old. And many of the books on this list are out of print. I recommend that you begin to visit old bookstores or go to bookfinder.com or abebooks.com and start shopping.

Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude by W. Clement Stone
I give value first. Evidence of the value I give can be found everywhere. My weekly column, my email magazine, and my Web site are full of free things you can learn from me. The value generates interest from others (you included). That interest results in sales.
I help other people. To the ability that I am able, I provide help for other people. I provide help for people the same way others have provided it for me. I can’t help everyone, but I help as many as I can.
I strive to be the best at what I love to do. This statement is as much an affirmation as it is a philosophical expression. Striving to be my best means I never quite achieve it, and I am always trying to do better. In essence, it says that so long as I am alive, I will be a student.
I establish long-term relationships with everyone. This means in every decision that I make, I am thinking long term. When you think long term, it’s more likely that you will make better decisions, especially as relates to fairness and ethics.
I have fun and I do that every day. The daily dose of fun is as important a dose as you could ever find, or ever find time to do. By having fun every day, it means you’re smiling every day. And if you need a deeper definition of this, it probably means you’re not having enough fun. I found out a secret. If you LOVE what you do, all of your days are the same — they’re holidays — and I wish the same for you.
Love u, Ana.
I am waiting for my in Portuguese hein! rs.
